Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of presenting my photographic project Chernobyl Series as a featured solo exhibition within the group exhibition ECO at Galleri A in Oslo. The exhibition brought together artists exploring humanity’s relationship with nature, the environment, and the traces we leave behind. Within this context, Chernobyl Series examined one of the most extraordinary landscapes on Earth — the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. (galleri-a.no)

The project was born from a fascination with what happens when humans suddenly disappear from a place. In Chernobyl, nature has reclaimed abandoned cities, schools, playgrounds, harbours, and homes. Trees grow through concrete, wildlife flourishes, and silence has replaced the noise of everyday life. What remains is a powerful reminder of both human fragility and nature’s remarkable resilience.
For those who did not have the opportunity to visit the ECO exhibition, there is now a new chance to experience part of the project. Two works from Chernobyl Series — Harbour and Playground — have been selected for Galleri A’s Summer Exhibition.

Harbour captures a forgotten waterfront slowly being reclaimed by nature, while Playground reflects the haunting contrast between childhood memories and the passage of time in an abandoned world. Together, they represent central themes of the series: absence, resilience, and renewal.

I am grateful to Galleri A for continuing to showcase works from this ongoing project, and I look forward to sharing these images with new visitors throughout the summer.
